Project 1
The initial ask of this project expanded further than authoring content. In this role, I conducted an analysis of the current training program, content, and identified gaps. I kickstarted the project to author training content in Google Slides. 70% of the content was novel, while 30% of the content was refreshed and updated.
After authoring the content, the pre-published units were evaluated reviewed by a beta testing group that included management senior operators of the team. After feedback and changes, stakeholders from different departments that made the training committee approved the final content after revision requests. SLAs for revision requests were exceeded on average by 130%.
The training content was then launched globally to as a requirement for all security operation center teams to certify. Several security managers reported improved performance and knowledge for their teams, and the project doubled as a reference guide for onboarding new hires.
Finally, I continued to refine and keep content updated as new programs were introduced to SOCs. Eventually the training content was published to the Exceed LMS in collaboration with other instructional designers. The content was then levied as a foundation for the operator onboarding system I developed to ensure all onboarding was conducted universally.
Project 2
The second client is a large power utility generation company. I developed training for their global security operations center team. This process relied on heavy collaboration between stakeholders and SMEs.
This training was a complete overhaul of how training was currently conducted. A needs analysis was done to identify training performance solutions, content gaps, and to structure a full lesson plan for current and newly onboarded operators.
During the design phase, storyboards were drafted in Infinite Painter, and added to PowerPoint to be presented to stakeholders, and receive client feedback. Hi-Fi mockups were created using a combination of Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, and again added to PowerPoint for collaborative presentation.
For development I used Storyline360, and created interactive modules including visual aids, knowledge checks, and other self-paced eLearning . Once complete, this training will be implemented for the entire SOC team for certification, and as a foundation for new operator onboarding.
